Gage & Gage Productions is happy to announce that our award-winning film From The Ground Up will screen this weekend at Lincoln Center as part of Mountainfilm on Tour. A dynamic partnership between Mountainfilm in Telluride and the Film Society of Lincoln Center, Mountainfilm in New York promises a weekend of fantastic films and inspiring discussions.

We're also happy to welcome Frank Marshall and his new film, Right To Play, to the Mountainfilm family with this weekend's screening at Lincoln Center. Right To Play is an ESPN short documentary about children and and the defense of their inalienable right to play-- and the power it has to promote health, peace, and development.

From The Ground Up premiered at Mountainfilm in Telluride this summer, and has since enjoyed a rigorous film festival tour and received several awards, including Best Short Documentary at Staten Island FF and Temecula Valley FF, and the Heartland FF Crystal Heart Award.

We hope you have a chance check out all the Mountainfilm in New York has to offer, from Oct 21-23. Enjoy!

Filmmaker Frank Marshall, producer of huge Hollywood films such as the Indiana Jones and Jason Bourne series, goes in a very different direction with his short documentary for ESPN, Right to Play. The film is about Johann Olav Koss, the brilliant Norwegian gold medalist speed skater who has started an organization called Right to Play, which is dedicated to, as their mission statement says: "improving the lives of children in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the world by using the power of sport and play for development, health and peace." It's a very simple concept: kids need to play but as this inspiring film shows, sometimes adults have to fight for them to have this inalienable right.

Beth and George Gage

Longtime filmmakers and Telluride locals, Beth and George Gage (Mountainfilm 2011, Bidder 70) traveled to New York City to tell the story of several women who lost their husbands on September 11, 2001. The film shows how these widows, many of them married to firefighters, have moved forward with their lives bravely and the best they can in the ten years since that hellish day. Followed by a conversation with director Dustin Grella, Executive Producer Andrea Garbarini, and 9/11 widows.
